Visa's and Vaccination's

Heyy all!

So gathered everything together for my visa the other day, sent it off all well and good but then... A week later it was returned back to me with the small print underlined saying that you can only send off for the visa 4 weeks before lift off, so that's been causing undue stress worrying whether I will get the visa or not.

On the other hand, last Tuesday so that would be the 3rd June I had a meeting with the nurse at the doctors about what vaccinations I will need and which ones I won't, came away from that with a ten page document I had to read through. The nurse also contacted a TB specialist about whether I would require the lovely BCG vaccination which is a live vaccination therefore may make me quite ill afterwards, but it's either that or get tuberculosis, I think the latter is the least desirable, don't you?

Just for reference and anyone interested the vaccinations I require for 9 months out in South Africa are Hepatitis A and B, Rabies, Typhoid, Cholera* and finally TB (BCG). I am having my first vaccination (hep A) tomorrow on 10th june.

Just one last point, I brought myself a new DSLR camera, cannon d600 for my trip to South Africa, so watch this space for (hopefully) good photographs, Soon will be buying flights and then let the countdown begin, 3 months till launch off.

*Cholera isn't actually a "jab" its a set of tablets that you take once a day for a few weeks.

Cya all later
